One day when she was stoned out on marijuana, the lit weed had burned her apartment with her asleep inside of it. Unfortunately she had gotten caught up in the wrong crowd, she had figured that doing drugs and alcohol can help her career. They were/are best friends and Sam had wished her good luck in her career. Another background for her is that she had known Sam when said girl was around ten years old. Her song Remember is possibly based on the above events prior to her death. She died in the flames, which possibly gave her the name Ember. She was so exhausted that she fell asleep and didn't wake up when her house mysteriously caught fire. She waited all night for him to show up, saying, "He's just running late." When morning came and he didn't show up, Ember went home. One day a boy asked her out to the movies. She also wears a pair of what appear to be leather pants with a silver belt and skull boots.Īccording to one of the creators for the show, before she died, Ember was an unpopular high school-aged girl who had large dreams of becoming a rock star. Her clothing is attractive and appealing in nature, consisting of a black choker around her neck, a black one-shouldered tank-top exposing her midriff, one long glove that covers most of her right arm, and one black bracelet on her left arm. Ember has long, flaming, teal hair put into a ponytail at the top of her head held back, she has two locks of hair framing her face which look like a sharp-angled "M" and purple lipstick. Her appearance, songs, and character in general portray her as a ghostly embodiment of teenage rebellion and disobedience to authority figures. a really depressed person who just wants to never wake up.Ember McLain is a hard rocking siren-like ghost girl who feeds off the idol worship of teenagers. There's no such thing as "No Regrets." You just gotta live with whatever regret you're holding on, "We will never change" the moment you realise something that you haven't before you already have. Now she's trying to express her objection to that daughter, to her past self, the things you think you won't regret are probably the most you will. My InterpretationThis can be interpreted from the mother's perspective, the daughter and her getaway partner wasn't really there, she was just watching her past unfold, all her regrets, all her questions of how she got where she is at the moment, where went wrong, and what really is it for, what she's doing, all those hopes and promises she's watched and heard, "it'll never change me and you" but what happened, everything just faded and collapsed as she got older, not noticing the change, the absence of her naivety and innocence, not noticing anything until some one direction song pointed it out. Reminds her of the missin' piece of innocence she lost
